Make No Mistake About It, America: The Majority of Practicing Physicians Do NOT Support ObamaCare

Make No Mistake About it, America: The MAJORITY of Practicing Physicians Do NOT Support ObamaCare.

Nor do they think it will lead to care that is "affordable", "protected", "quality", "compassionate"  or even  "accessbile"- or whatever unadulterated nonsense the Liar-in-Chief  and his cronies and  complicit media are spewing.

The MAJORITY of Actual *Practicing* Physicians Loathe it- because it will destroy any vestige of quality in the US health care system and place both them -AND YOU-  at the mercy of thousands of federal bureaucrats making health care decisions FOR US - AND FOR *YOU*.

If you think that a doctor practicing medicine without a license is dangerous - and a threat to your life, you'd better believe that a federal bureaucrat is.

ObamaCare needs to be REPEALED - and replaced-  with an entirely NEW, economically sensible health care reform plan that gets the government and 3rd party payer insurance bureaucrats OUT OF MY OFFICE  -AND OUT OF EVERY DOCTORS'  OFFICE - AND OUT OF YOUR LIFE.

IF you value your life- and your future- and your health care,  A FAR BETTER ALTERNATIVE health care reform plan IS available and is described in great detail below. Please See the Below health care reform plan

But FIRST, in order to get to the stage where RATIONAL, ECONOMICALLY SOUND health care reforms can be implemented, you need to GET RID OF OBAMA AND HIS CRONIES ON NOV 6TH.

THE PHYSICIANS' PRESCRIPTION FOR HEALTH CARE REFORM

"The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (aka ObamaCare) neither protects patients, nor does it lead to affordable care.  The two fundamental problems that drive up the cost of health care in the United States are the lack of true competition in the health insurance industry and the isolation of physicians and patients from the true costs of health care.

Rather than addressing these problems, ObamaCare aggravates them by limiting choices of insurance, increasing regulation, and centralizing decision making.  It is the wrong prescription for health care reform in America.  A majority of Americans, particularly physicians, recognize this and thus oppose the new health care law and support its repeal.

Docs 4 Patient Care is an organization of physicians dedicated to the preservation of the doctor-patient relationship.  What follows is our prescription for health care reform in the United States.

Our primary concern is the health and well-being of our patients.  An additional concern is the health and well-being of our country –physically and financially.

Accompanying each of the following eight recommendations is a rationale.  These recommendations are intended to serve as a framework on which responsible legislation can be constructed."

The Moral Case for Romneycare 2.0

The Moral Case for Romneycare 2.0
By Scott W. Atlas, MD

"Since 2010, when the Affordability Care Act was signed into law, the American mainstream media has insisted that President Obama’s bill provides the most at-risk Americans, low income families and seniors, with better health care. And that must mean, by any logic, better access to doctors, more access to the modern tools of diagnosis and treatment, and ultimately better health outcomes. That poor Americans benefit greatly from the ACA, and that seniors will be more secure under the president’s law, has seemed so obvious to the left-leaning news outlets that this fact has yet to be critically examined by them.

President Obama’s ACA law purports to provide new health coverage to upwards of 16 million low income Americans by way of Medicaid. We already see in the wake of the Supreme Court decision that many, if not most, states simply cannot be burdened with massive increases in their Medicaid outlays, regardless of the promise of financial support from the federal government (itself a financially unsustainable funding source).
But President Obama’s assertion about new insurance for the poor and all it brings is, in fact, a grand deception.

We know that 55 percent of primary care physicians and obstetricians already refuse all or most new Medicaid patients (about four times the percentage that refuse new private insurance patients), and only half of specialist doctors accept most new Medicaid patients. Clearly, granting poor people Medicaid is not equivalent to providing access to doctors.

Another sham, one less well understood by voters, is the implication that pushing millions more patients into Medicaid offers good quality health care.

Owing to Medicaid’s restrictive guidelines for diagnosis and treatment, Medicaid patients experience more deaths, longer hospitalizations, and more serious complications from major surgery, cancers, heart disease, interventional procedures, transplants, and AIDS than patients with the same illnesses and health status but with private insurance—objective conclusions proven by medical scientists in the world’s top peer-reviewed medical journals like Annals of Surgery, Cancer, Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation, and the American Journal of Cardiology.

These are outcomes so shamefully poor that, when comparing patients with the same risk factors and status, Medicaid patients at times fared worse than those with no insurance at all...."

Advice from Your Friendly Local Radiologist: Vote to Repeal ObamaCare

Advice from your friendly, local radiologist:
Dear Patient,

It's time for you to make a very important choice in your life. Who do you want - and trust - to make your personal health care decisions for yourself and your family - from this point on in your life ?  You and your doctor? Or the federal government?
It's really very simple. If you 'd prefer the latter, then go ahead:  pull the lever for President Obama and his misleadingly labeled "Patient Protection & Affordable Care Act".

Remember though that by doing so, you deliver yourself, and just as importantly, your doctor -bound hand, foot and mind- to the dictates and decrees of tens - if not hundreds- of thousands of medical technocrats from over 159 new federal medical bureaus, panels, commissions and boards who will be convening, discussing and dictating the terms of your care- what you can have, when you can have it and if you can have it.

You will be putting your money into the government pot  and trusting your life to the wisdom, training, compassion,  education, and motives of the same federal bureaucrats who will have power over yourself and your doctor.

Go ahead. Spin the roulette wheel. You might get lucky and hit the jackpot -and get "your fair share" of the pot of government money to get the medical services you need when your life depends on it- if you happen to be the "right age" or have the "right condition", be a member of the "right group", know the "right people",  or hire the right lobbyists who will give money to the "right people" at the "right time" during the "right election cycle".

I would suggest that you think long and hard before doing that. As a doctor- practicing over 20 years- and helping patients make life or death decisions, I would actually advise against that. Without a doubt, there are many problems in the US health care system-as well as the US health care financing systems -  which need to be reformed. In case you were unaware, they are- *every_last_one_of_ them* - problems that were *created* by bad government laws, policies and regulations and destructive intrusion of government into the market for medical services and health insurance in the *first* place.

Your government- over the past 50 years- has created this mess and piled bad health care policies and regulations  onto bad health care policies and regulations like fuel onto a burning conflagration.  Yet, in order to fix this mess, rather than listening to the opinions and advice of your doctors- the people who actually have devoted their lives to providing the life-giving and life-preserving  services you depend on - and empowering them to help make the necessary changes in your best interest,  you are going to look to the same government tinkers who caused it in the first place ? Bad choice.

The US health care financing system is certainly a mess- and you can thank your government for that . If you are smart, you will not sign on the line for empty promise and "Hope &Change" again. If you are smart, you will *not*  endorse the idea that " we have to re-elect the President to find out what's in it".

You will *not* put your blind trust into the hands of Government  to "fix it once and for all" ( I promise you, they will, alright-....).

Reforms are needed- desperately- but reforms that preserve your personal freedom to make your own personal, deeply private medicine choices- and your doctor's personal  ability to treat you according to his or her own best medical judgement- not the dictates of bean-counting federal bureaucrats. In order to do that, ObamaCare must be WIPED OUT.

So I would suggest voting for the candidate who has vowed to REPEAL ObamaCare. HINT: The current President is *not* one of them. This would not be the "end" of the US health care reform  process- but rather,  the *beginning* - since blowing this dangerous law out of existence is the *first step* and *pre-condition* of allowing doctors to and patients to bringing to bear economically sound , patient-oriented and doctor -oriented health care reform policies that preserves your freedom as a patient to make your own choices and preserves your doctor's freedom and ability to practice medicine- in *your* best interest.

Furthermore, beyond just voting for candidates who have pledged to REPEAL ObamaCare, I would also like to encourage you to take action to educate other doctors and patients to do the same by joining the Docs4PatientCare Patient/ Voter / Doctor Education Campaign .

Your own doctor probably has said very little or nothing to you about this and may know very little about the law himself .You would do him or her- and their patients- a great service by getting our educational brochures into the hands of your OWN doctor to disseminate to patients in the waiting room. Your health - and the future and health of the US health care system depend on it..

Thank you for your time,
Evan Madianos, MD

Doctors 11th hour: Health Care Freedom vs. Slavery- You Pick. It's Your Vote.

A message from Dr. Carrie Triepel - a  Docs4PatientCare  member , and hand surgeon from Virginia Beach to patients. I had the great honor -and pleasure- of meeting Carrie at the national D4PC meeting last month. She is a genuine patriot and doctor and patient advocate who cares deeply about her country, her patients and the practice of medicine.

American patients are on the verge of giving up their health care freedom to Washington bureaucrats who will have total control over all the money and all the decisions about what care you are allowed to get and under what conditions. As a patient, you are on the verge of delivering your doctor into the hands of federal bureaucrats who will substitute his or her medical decision- making and choices, knowledge, training and judgment for theirs. Make no mistake about it- you - and your health- will be the ultimate victim of this  new health care world order under ObamaCare. Vote accordingly.Your life *will* depend on it someday

Not Reforming Medicare Is Not an Option | Galen Institute

Not Reforming Medicare Is Not an Option | Galen Institute

"To those who insist that they’ve “paid for” their Medicare benefits and dare politicians to change the program, consider this: A typical couple retiring last year, with both spouses having worked and paid taxes their whole careers, would have paid a total of $149,000 in Medicare taxes. But they are expected to consume an average of $351,000 in medical services in their retirement years (in constant dollars), according to a study from the Urban Institute.

That $202,000 gap would have to be financed by higher and higher taxes on fewer and fewer of tomorrow’s workers or by more deficit spending that puts trillions of dollars in debt on the shoulders of our grandchildren.
Clearly, Medicare is not sustainable, especially with more than 70 million Baby Boomers starting to enter the program at the rate of 10,000 a day."

ROMNEY/RYAN MEDICARE REFORM PLAN

Romney/ryan medicare reform plan

OVERVIEW:

"President Obama has had three years in office, during which time he has attacked every serious proposal to preserve and strengthen America’s entitlement programs while enacting cuts to Medicare and putting in place a bureaucratic board that one day may ration the care available through the program.
Mitt Romney has laid out the approach he would take to modernizing America’s entitlement programs, guaranteeing their continued vitality for future generations. Mitt’s proposals would not affect today’s seniors or those nearing retirement, and they would not raise taxes. But he proposes that tomorrow’s Medicare should give beneficiaries a generous defined contribution, or “premium support,” and allow them to choose between private plans and traditional Medicare.
Mitt’s plan honors commitments to current seniors while giving the next generation an improved program that offers the freedom to choose what their coverage under Medicare should look like. Instead of paying providers directly for medical services, the government’s role will be to help future seniors pay for an insurance option that provides coverage at least as good as today’s Medicare, and to offer traditional Medicare as one of the insurance options that seniors can choose.
With insurers competing against each other to provide the best value to customers, efficiency and quality will improve and costs will decline. Seniors will be allowed to keep the savings from less expensive options or choose to pay more for costlier plans."
Key Elements of Mitt’s Plan
  • Nothing changes for current seniors or those nearing retirement
  • Medicare is reformed as a premium support system, meaning that existing spending is repackaged as a fixed-amount benefit to each senior that he or she can use to purchase an insurance plan
  • All insurance plans must offer coverage at least comparable to what Medicare provides today
  • If seniors choose more expensive plans, they will have to pay the difference between the support amount and the premium price; if they choose less expensive plans, they can use any leftover support to pay other medical expenses like co-pays and deductibles
  • “Traditional” fee-for-service Medicare will be offered by the government as an insurance plan, meaning that seniors can purchase that form of coverage if they prefer it; however, if it costs the government more to provide that service than it costs private plans to offer their versions, then the premiums charged by the government will have to be higher and seniors will have to pay the difference to enroll in the traditional Medicare option
  • Lower income seniors will receive more generous support to ensure that they can afford coverage; wealthier seniors will receive less support
  • Competition among plans to provide high quality service while charging low premiums will hold costs down while also improving the quality of coverage enjoyed by seniors

A Letter toPatients- From the American Association of Physicians & Surgeons

Courtesy of Donna Rovito & American Association of Physicians & Surgeons From our friends at AAPS - a letter to run off on your own letterhead and distribute to your patients: "My Valued Employees and Patients: I hope that when the New Year comes, I will still be here to sign your paycheck or to serve you when you are ill. But a lot depends on the outcome of the election. While I cannot tell you how to vote, I strongly urge you to consider all the issues careful ly and to exercise your right to vote. And be sure that you, your family, friends, fellow parishioners, and other like-minded people are registered to vote and do so. As I see it, the one over-riding issue is the need to repeal ObamaCare. There are a couple of pages, constantly talked about, that many people like. And more than 900 pages that they wouldn’t like, if they knew about them. Most of these won’t be in effect until 2014—too late to influence the election. Obama has repeatedly promised that if you like your insurance plan or your doctor, you can keep them. But only, of course, if they are still there. ObamaCare is driving up insurance premiums and even outlawing the most economical policies. ObamaCare is forcing independent doctors out of practice altogether, or into employment by big organizations, to whom you are a cost, a liability, even an annoyance. The other thing that might not be there is your job. ObamaCare costs are causing many employers to cut the number of workers and avoid hiring new ones. Find out how your candidate would vote on repealing ObamaCare. And remember: if he or she is a Democrat running for Senate it might not matter. The Senate is under one-party, virtually one-man rule. If Harry Reid won’t bring an issue to a vote, your Senator can’t vote on it. The House of Representatives has voted some 30 times to repeal ObamaCare. This will not even come to a vote in the Senate and will surely be vetoed by the President if there is not a change in the majority party in the Senate or the occupant of the White House. That’s why party affiliation is of unprecedented importance this year. If you have questions, ask me. I would be delighted to discuss the issues with you, and provide more information. Sincerely, Your Doctor www.aapsonline.org

A Red Carpet for Radicals at the White House by Steve Emersson

"A year-long investigation by the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT) has found that scores of known radical Islamists made hundreds of visits to the Obama White House, meeting with top administration officials. Court documents and other records have identified many of these visitors as belonging to groups serving as fronts for the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas and other Islamic militant organizations. The IPT made the discovery combing through millions of White House visitor log entries. IPT compared the visitors' names with lists of known radical Islamists. Among the visitors were officials representing groups which have: Been designated by the Department of Justice as unindicted co-conspirators in terrorist trials; Extolled Islamic terrorist groups including Hamas and Hizballah; Obstructed terrorist investigations by instructing their followers not to cooperate with law enforcement; Promoted the incendiary conspiratorial allegation that the United States is engaged in a "war against Islam"— a leading tool in recruiting Muslims to carry out acts of terror; Repeatedly claimed that many of the Islamic terrorists convicted since 9-11 were framed by the U.S government as part of an anti-Muslim profiling campaign. Individuals from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) visited the White House at least 20 times starting in 2009. In 2008, CAIR was listed as an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorist money laundering case in U.S. history – the trial of the Holy Land Foundation in which five HLF officials were convicted of funneling money to Hamas. U.S. District Court Judge Jorge Solis later ruled that, "The Government has produced ample evidence to establish the association" of CAIR to Hamas, upholding their designations as unindicted co-conspirators. In 2008, the FBI formally ended all contact with CAIR because of its ties to Hamas...." More HERE

Obamacare’s Rationing by Another Name: The Independence Payment Advisory Board

Obamacare’s Rationing by Another Name: The Independence Payment Advisory Board

 writes:
Medicare spending is a pressing problem, no doubt. But the IPAB is a cure worse than the disease. It thwarts seniors’ treatment options, providers’ independence, and the constitutional balance of powers. The more Romney makes it an issue during his campaign, the more likely that the IPAB itself will be thwarted, whether he ends up in White House or not.

US Health Care at the Crossroad

You are cordially invited to the below discussion

Please join our discussion.

Of further interest to you, we wish to bring to your attention a movie that can be seen on You Tube. We hope you have a computer, as this movie provides an excellent background of how medical care has developed over centuries and what we are facing today in the United States.

The name of this movie is The Determinators Movie: "ObamaCare- Whoever Pays Holds the Power to Decide"

A brief description:

The Determinators is a chilling story which uncovers the dark underside of the massive healthcare reform bill that, once fully implemented, will significantly threaten the way Americans live...and die. Based on the book "The Battle for America's Soul" by CL Gray, MD.

The Determinators feature leading experts in the field of healthcare who have studied the law and it's impending ramifications.
The movie highlights several of the worst elements of Obamacare that big-government bureaucrats want to keep hidden from the public until it's too late. It's information people need to know before they decide how to vote.

TAKE ACTION: Join the Docs4PatientCare Patient Education Campaign to Repeal ObamaCare

Docs4PatientCare is  an excellent health care reform organization that advocates for the protection and preservation of the  the doctor-patient relationship. They defend the critical ability of America's physicians to make medical decisions in the best interest of their patients- instead of being forced to follow bureaucratic dictates handed down from Washington, DC.

Ironcially, your duplicitous, manipulative, shameless Con -Man -in-Chief perseverates ad nauseam that no alternative to his health care power grab has ever been put forth, and does not exist. The only  "sensible" option to solving America's health care crisis is HIS and the opposition's plan is "Let people just die in the street". This, of course, is unadulterated nonsense- which he brazenly repeats in the press since he knows full well that none a one of his idol-worshipping main stream media lapdogss would dare challenge him on this and entertain or discuss in the press the myriad of far better, economically sound policies put forth by actual PRACTICNG doctors ( as opposed to those from the AMA and other navel gazing wanna-be-doctor organizations in the US) .

Several different excellent physican organizations and organizations of health care policy experts have developed detailed, robust , economically sound health care reform plans. Your media, unfortunately, has merely falled down on the job in their resposnibility to inform the American public .

Among them:

Docs4PatientCare

Physicians for Reform
Galen Institute
American Association of Physicians & Surgeons
Heritage Foundation
National Center for Policy Analysis
among others.....

So, let's just say that Obama has done an excellent job- of plyaing his characteristic game of deception, disinformation and misinformation- and the  media has done an excellent job: of keeping you in the dark.

The member physicians at Docs4PatientCare tirelessly advocate for REAL, economically sound,  health care reform policies that dramatically decrease health care costs and increase quality and access to medical care by radically overhauling  the US health insurance industry and US tax code. They  resuscitate and reform a critically -ill, financially floundering  Medicare for the long-term. D4PC 's free market reform policies  unshackle doctors and patients from under the  *soon-to-be-absolute*  control of government and 3rd party payer life-time bureaucrats and parasitic middlemen.

Critically, the D4PC plan restores  the freedom of physicians to practice medicine, the freedom of patients to choose their medical care and doctors. It preserves the freedom, ability and incentive of medical device companies and pharmaceutical companies to push forward the scientific frontiers of medicine and deliver the life-saving innovations  that you-and  this country's health care system- depend on.

They  have designed a number of terrific  educational  postcards, posters, and brochures that doctors can print out and display in their waiting room or mail to their patients, informing them about the Risk & Perils of ObamaCare.

The time to speak out against ObamaCare is now. The election is rapidly approaching and you can STILL make a critical impact by helping to inform the electorate about the destructive impact that the misleadingly titled  "Affordable Care Act"  will have on the US health care system and economy- and to advocate for  economically sound , problem- oriented solutions to America's health care financing crisis that will lower the costs of medical services and health insurance premiums while critically protecting and preserving  your ability to make your own medical care decisions- free of the highly destructive effects of bureaucratic control.

The time to get involved personally is NOW and the tools to do so are in your hands. Join the Docs4PatientCare "Waiting Room to Exam Room Campaign".Please read and help to distribute our important educational brochures on the risks and perils of ObamaCare- to your own doctors, to other patients, to your friends, family and loved ones.

Join the historic fight against government and 3rd party payer bureaucratic tyranny in US health care and to once- and- for -all restore freedom and control in medicine to doctors and patients. Join the campaign to reform US health care the RIGHT way- by forcefully * ejecting from power* America's current crop of inept, irresponsible and dangerous politicians and would-be medical technocratic dictators. Please forward this as well to your own doctor, physician colleagues, friends and family.

We Stand FIRM: Scherz On Disincentives To Practice Medicine Under ObamaCare

We Stand FIRM: Scherz On Disincentives:

"In his 10/19/2012 TownHall piece, Dr. Hal Scherz of Docs4PatientCare asks a good question: "Obamacare may be around, but will your doctor?" In particular, he notes that ObamaCare will increasingly reward doctors for cutting costs and skimping on care to patients. Under IPAB, ACOs, "bundled payments", and the other new regulations, doctors will be encouraged to not practice medicine, rather than to practice medicine.

For instance: Obamacare creates a template which will result in the elimination of the private practice of healthcare. This will occur through Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) which are large hospital systems employing physicians, ostensibly to facilitate the integration of care and to control costs.

Sadly, ACOs are akin to the HMOs of the 1990s, only much worse. The payment for an episode of care comes into the ACO as a single bundled payment and the institution determines how the money is divided. The patient no longer is the first priority of the doctors, but rather, it is satisfying the needs of their boss- the ACO. Doctors will be incentivized to save money- doing less, not more for their patients. Currently, less than 50% of doctors are self-employed and this number will drop sharply under Obamacare.

Under these pressures, many doctors will quit or retire early.  Others will just ramp down their efforts, working fewer hours.  We'll see fewer doctors willing to put in the extra effort staying late in the medical library consulting a journal to nail a difficult diagnosis or fine tune a patient's treatment protocol...."

"The Risks & Perils of ObamaCare" : What You Can Do

"The Risks & Perils of ObamaCare" : What You Can Do

** Correction: Dr. Naffah can be contacted at  avamarnaffah@aol.com **
A medical doctor in the crucial swing state of Ohio is publishing a 2,000-word letter slamming President Barack Obama’s health care law as full-page ads in local newspapers ahead of the presidential election.
Dr. Farid Naffah, a gastroenterologist in Warren, Ohio, wrote “The Risks and Perils of Obamacare” letter that has run both twice in the Tribune Chronicle and once in the Youngstown Vindicator in Ohio over the last week.

Dr. Naffah's piece on "The Risks and Perils of ObamaCare" is extremely powerful, well-written, persuasive and highly informative. It is an incredibly powerful and influential piece of intellectual ammunition that health care professionals and concerned citizens can critically use to influence the minds of undecided voters- especially in swing states - in the next 2 weeks.

First, from his letter:

"“...If the Affordable Care Act is not socialized medicine it will of necessity lead to it, by the exercise of regulatory mechanisms and fiscal pressure,” Naffah writes in the essay.

“Medicine wi
ll no longer be a liberal profession,” he argues, “but a government job, where your physician’s desire to excel in the delivery of care will cede its place to the fulfillment of government imposed requirements, the adherence to imperious rules and the fear of retribution.”

In the letter, the doctor argues that, “If all you know about Obamacare is that it will provide insurance to 32 million Americans who don’t have it; that patients with pre-existing conditions may not be excluded from coverage; that certain screening procedures are offered without co-payments, and that children may remain on their parents’ plan until the age of twenty-six, you would have no reason to fear or oppose it.”

“Sadly, that is exactly where the Obama White House wants you to be: in sheer ignorance of the innumerable provisions that make up the 2,700 pages of the law,” he writes.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

First, read the whole thing. If you agree, consider getting actively involved in the effort to disseminate his message in your town or state. Print it out. Show it to friends and family. Show it to your own doctor. Chances are, he will be grateful to see that you care about this issue. Disseminate it to friends and family and through social networking sites.

If you are a doctor or health care professional: Consider recruiting other health care professionals to help fund a full page ad of this message in your local newspaper, listing the names of the local doctors who support these opinions and oppose the misleadingly named "Affordable Care Act" and realize that its repeal requires that President Obama NOT be granted 4 more years to implement it.

I have spoken with Dr. Naffar directly. He was thrilled with my support and to hear the extent to which his message had gotten out in Pennsylvania and elsewhere. he was delighted to grant me his blanket permission for health care professionals to print out copies of his ad on a national basis to disseminate in their waiting rooms to patients. He gave blanket permission to doctors everywhere to band together in their local communities to fund and run this ad in their local newspaper . He gave me his contact information.

I would encourage any doctor wishing to help fund an ad to put in a courtesy call / email to Dr. Naffar to express your support and your intentions and thank him for speaking out in such powerful way at such a critical time. He can be contacted at avamarnaffah@aol.com.

As Dr. Naffar stressed- and which I have always said myself- your patients know their own doctor and trust you - and your word carries weight in your local community. Where it is the choice of a particular medical treatment, surgical option, or  drug regimen, patients trust you to help them make life -or -death medical care decisions in their best interest- by providing them with the facts,  options and recommendations and helping them to decide on a course of action which is in their best interest.

ObamaCare is not about one particular medical or surgical option or drug regimen. It is  about whether doctors and patients will have the ability and freedom  to make such choices AT ALL. It is about whether or not they will have the ability  to make those decisions based on a doctor's best medical knowledge and judgement and a patient's autonomy and best interests- or whether such decisions will be ripped out of their hands and made by the hundreds of  politically motivated new federal bureaucracies tasked with deciding how "taxpayer- appropriated  social resources should be allocated" to serve the collective need of society, rather than to treat an individual patient.

Many  voters are still at least *somewhat* skeptical of the platitudes and rhetoric of politicians who make empty promises of "free stuff" from beneficent politician using the federal treasury as his own personal cookie jar to buy voters by handing out "free stuff". Many are not.

However, regardless- most patients properly trust their doctors to have their best interests at heart and to give them the facts necessary to make important decisions that will affect their lives.

For that reason,  when a patient in your community recognizes  your name on a signed ad voicing your opinion on the destructive effects of ObamaCare, they will probably not dismiss it lightly. At the very least, it will give them pause and may  incentivize them to seek more information about the law which could influence their voting decisions. This effort alone could make the  difference in a swing state to put Romney over the top.

For my part, I intend to start contacting  doctors today in Pennsylvania to to attempt to fund this important  effort. I hope others will do the same.

It is not too late yet- but the window of opportunity is rapidly closing. As you can observe clearly, the words and efforts of ONE person can have dramatic impact on the minds of many. And so could you- if you get involved.

In closing, I'd like to bring your attention to an inspirational quote from an essay written by Ayn Rand entitled : " What Can One Do? <to which I took the presumptuous editorial liberty of inserting a few personal comments to emphasize the relevance to the field of health care> :

" Today, most people are acutely aware of our cultural-ideological
vacuum <and the legal and economic chaos of our health care system>;
they are anxious, confused, and groping for answers. Are you able to
enlighten them?

Can you answer their questions? Can you offer them a consistent case?
Do you know how to correct their errors? Are you immune from the
fallout of the constant barrage aimed at the destruction of reason
<and freedom in our health care system>? Can you provide others with
antimissile missiles?

* A political battle is merely a skirmish fought with muskets; a
philosophical battle is a nuclear war.*

If you want to influence a country's intellectual trend <or bring
rational reform to the health care system>, the first step is to
bring order to your own ideas and integrate them into a consistent
case, to the best of your knowledge and ability.

This does not mean memorizing and reciting slogans and principles;
knowledge necessarily includes the ability to apply abstract
principles to concrete problems, to recognize the principles in
specific issues, to demonstrate them, and to advocate a consistent
course of action.

This does not require omniscience or omnipotence; it is the
subconscious expectation of automatic omniscience in oneself and in
others that defeats many would-be crusaders (and serves as an excuse
for doing nothing).

What is required is honesty- intellectual honesty- which consists
in knowing what one does know, constantly expanding one's knowledge,
and never evading or failing to correct a contradiction. This means:
the development of an active mind as a permanent attribute.

When or if your convictions are in your conscious, orderly control,
you will be able to communicate them to others.

If you like condensations (provided you bear in mind their full
meaning), I will say: when you ask "What can one do?" the answer
is "SPEAK" (provided you know what you are saying).

A few suggestions: do not wait for a national audience. Speak on any
scale open to you, large or small, to your friends, your associates,
<your patients>, your professional organizations, or any legitimate
public forum.

You can never tell when your words will reach the right mind at the
right time. You will see no immediate results, but it is of such
activities that public opinion is made."

This election is a referendum on public opinion- on ObamaCare and President Obama' s disastrous economic policies and foreign policy record. You can have an impact by getting involved in helping to influence that public opinion.
