Ohio doctor running newspaper ads against Obamacare | The Daily Caller

Ohio doctor running newspaper ads against Obamacare | The Daily Caller

A medical doctor in the crucial swing state of Ohio is publishing a 2,000-word letter slamming President Barack Obama’s health care law as full-page ads in local newspapers ahead of the presidential election.
Dr. Farid Naffah, a gastroenterologist in Warren, Ohio, wrote “The Risks and Perils of Obamacare” letter that has run both twice in the Tribune Chronicle and once in the Youngstown Vindicator in Ohio over the last week.

Dr. Naffah's piece on "The Risks and Perils of ObamaCare" is extremely powerful, well-written, persuasive and highly informative.

From his letter:

"“...If the Affordable Care Act is not socialized medicine it will of necessity lead to it, by the exercise of regulatory mechanisms and fiscal pressure,” Naffah writes in the essay.

“Medicine wi
ll no longer be a liberal profession,” he argues, “but a government job, where your physician’s desire to excel in the delivery of care will cede its place to the fulfillment of government imposed requirements, the adherence to imperious rules and the fear of retribution.”

In the letter, the doctor argues that, “If all you know about Obamacare is that it will provide insurance to 32 million Americans who don’t have it; that patients with pre-existing conditions may not be excluded from coverage; that certain screening procedures are offered without co-payments, and that children may remain on their parents’ plan until the age of twenty-six, you would have no reason to fear or oppose it.”

“Sadly, that is exactly where the Obama White House wants you to be: in sheer ignorance of the innumerable provisions that make up the 2,700 pages of the law,” he writes.

UPDATE I:

This is something that the American people need to hear on a NATIONAL level- in every way possible- not only on the internet , but in similar print ads in major cities in every state in the country_ especially in swing staes. It needs to be printed out and placed in the waiting room of every single like- minded physician in the country.

I put a call out to him this morning. I intend to seek permission from him to recruit doctors and other health care professionals in Pennsylvania to recruit financial support to run the print ad in newspapers in major Pennsylvania- with his name and listing the endorsing physicians. It also needsto receive the endorsement of whatever medical societies or subspeciality societies will do so.

I also plan to ask him to he might be able to make a You tube video of the same - which could be posted on websites- and circulated on social media. He could even read the entire list of endorsing physicians by name and location at the end. It would be of extremely powerful and highly persuasive.

Update II

I just spoke with Dr. Naffar. He was surprised and thrilled that i called from PA and that doctors and others have already heard of his piece that ran in a local newspaper in OHIO, He gave his blanket permission for the piece to be republished in its entirety as an ad (better yet would be a column. Of course, by any newspaper willing to do so for free...) with his name alongside as the names of as many local doctors as are willing to endorse it in any state. He also like the You tube video idea.

He can be contacted by email at avarmarnaffah@aol.com
I will update my blogpost accordingly and state fund raising in PA

  1. Thank you for posting a link to the complete text of the article, and thank you even more for your efforts at disseminating this information. I truly hope that this letter can reach millions of readers across the country. I have been studying Obamacare for 2 years and have a wife who works in health care and we have been trying to warn as many people as we can that, despite everything else going into this election, Obamacare alone should be enough to get everyone running to the polls to vote for Romney. Thank you also for reaching out to Dr. Naffar. I will check back to your blog for updates. You have my best wishes in your efforts.

  2. Thanks for your kind note, Jeffers- and for your own and your wife's efforts to disseminate information On ObamaCare as well. I absolutely agree that ObamaCare alone *should* be enough to appropriately scare the hell out of any rational and informed person from even considering voting for Obama for the health care disasters, economic destruction and destruction to our Constitutional principles that will result. I hope we can get this message out to as many voters as possible in the next two weeks. I did get the go ahead from Dr. Naffah below and would like to encourage as many as possible to help him get this message out:

  3. I emailed Dr. Naffar using the email address in your blog but had my email returned to me on both attempts. I used avarmarnaffah@aol.com and pasted the address directly into my email. Is there an alternative method I can use to contact him? Thanks!

  4. It seems that in this post there was an additional 'r' in the email address, though I was able to discover this by looking at your more recent post about what we can do to get involved. Fortunately, it was correctly listed there without the extra 'r' and I successfully sent him an email. I look forward to hearing back about how I can help out.
